You can’t scroll through the list of things to do in Arizona without seeing Horseshoe Bend. It is breathtaking to see the river’s green waters juxtaposed with the amazing natural formation of tan sandstone.

The Lake Mead National Recreation Area covers 177 miles of the Colorado River and includes Lake Mead (and Lake Mohave). You can enjoy boating, water sports, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities in the area. The most popular activities in the Grand Canyon are walking along the Rim Trail, hiking to the canyon (on the South Rim the Bright Angel and South Kaibab trails, respectively, are very popular-South Kaibab is my favorite), and taking in the sunset from the viewpoints.

Bisbee is 90 miles southeast of Tucson. It’s located on the Mule Mountains slopes. Bisbee was established in 1880 as an Old West mining camp. It was home to one of the most prosperous mining communities in the world. It was home to an opera house, a library, and a ball field. There were also 47 saloons. The mine was closed in the middle of the 1970s and the miners fled. Artists and other free spirits began to move in as they found the beautiful nature and rich history appealing. The town is home to many galleries, museums, and new-age shops. There are also restaurants, hotels, and tour guide offices.

You will find all sorts of wildlife in the area, so be sure to keep your eyes open for them as you go.
